Warranty

Bodega Design covers manufacturing and finishing damages of furniture from the delivery date and up to 1 year thereafter. This warranty also includes damages that may occur during our transportation service. We reserve the right to replace, repair, or refund the product as deemed appropriate.

It's important for the furniture to have proper use, maintenance, and care to remain in optimal condition. You can refer to our care and maintenance instructions document here.

  • Start of Warranty Period

The warranty period begins from the delivery and receipt date of the item by the customer or authorized person and lasts for 1 year thereafter.

  • Warranty Coverage

We guarantee that our furniture products are free from manufacturing and finishing defects for a period of one (1) year from the original purchase date. This warranty covers damages resulting directly from manufacturing defects.

  • Warranty Exclusions

This warranty does not cover damages caused by improper use of the furniture, abuse, negligence, or any other circumstances unrelated to manufacturing and finishing defects. Additionally, it does not cover damages resulting from exposure to extreme humidity, heat, cold, or sudden temperature changes. Furthermore, any unauthorized modification of the furniture will void this warranty.

It's important to note that the warranty does not apply to aspects such as change of mind regarding the aesthetic finish of the item, customer error in choosing the item through the website, incorrect dimensions provided by the customer, color combinations, or dissatisfaction with the appearance of the item in the final location, or similar situations, nor in the case of errors or damages that occurred during the installation or transportation of the products at the customer's expense.

Our warranty solely covers manufacturing defects and is not a satisfaction guarantee.

  • Application of Warranty

The warranty applies to damages that have been expressly communicated by the customer and included in the documents signed during the dispatch process, completed at the time of product delivery. If for any reason you did not make observations in the receipt document, you must contact our customer service within the warranty period. We will ask you to provide a detailed description of the problem, along with photographic evidence supporting your claim.

  • Claim Procedure

To avail the warranty, the consumer must make the item available for claim to the company: Desamparados, San José; it can be found on Google Maps as Bodega Design Workshop. The consumer is responsible for transporting the product to our workshop. The cost of delivery transportation for the repaired product is not included in the warranty. Home visits to inspect the product incur an additional cost.

  • Repair and/or Replacement of the Item

Repair is the company's first option to fulfill the customer's warranty right. However, it is at the company's discretion to proceed with the replacement of the item subject to warranty. If during the validity of this warranty and at the time of repair or replacement there is no availability of identical materials, we reserve the right to substitute materials with others of equal or better quality.

  • Duration of Repair or Replacement

The repair time is approximately 3 to 6 weeks. If any inconvenience arises, the customer will be notified in advance. Before repair, a diagnosis will be provided, stating the general condition of the product and the causes of the damage.

  • Installation

Incorrect assembly and installation of the products can damage them. Bodega does not cover the warranty for damages that may occur during installation managed by third parties.

  • Transportation

The warranty does not cover damages or loss of the order during transportation managed by the customer, whether in a personal vehicle or transportation services not belonging to Bodega. This includes transportation platforms such as Uber, Didi, courier companies, etc.

  • Exposure to Moisture, Rain, or Other Weather Conditions

Most of our products are designed for indoor use. Terraces, balconies, and other areas with partial protection against weather effects are considered outdoor environments. Products labeled as "suitable for outdoors" are waterproof but are not exempt from deterioration such as oxidation marks over time when constantly exposed to conditions such as sun, rain, and salinity. Prolonged exposure to such conditions invalidates the warranty against manufacturing defects. Important Considerations

  • All seat and back cushion fillings soften with normal use and conform to the user's shape. This will be considered natural wear and tear and will not be regarded as a loss of elasticity or a manufacturing defect.
  • This warranty does not cover any damage caused to the product by living organisms, such as fungi, insects, rodents, pets, among others.
  • Avoid excessive moisture and liquid spills. If a spill occurs, promptly dry it. Remember that cold containers can condense moisture and dampen furniture.
  • Excessive ambient moisture can affect the finish, as well as
    promote the growth of fungi (mold) and other microorganisms that can affect your health.
  • Avoid direct sunlight and reflected light on shiny surfaces (such as mirrors and glossy ceramic floors). Direct sunlight
    can fade and damage the finish of your furniture.
  • Avoid sudden temperature changes. Very hot or cold surfaces can alter the finish of
    your furniture.
  • Do not apply chemical products to your furniture as these can damage the finish. Refer to our care and maintenance guide. Do
    not place our products near heat sources. Some materials, such as foams and fabrics, are highly flammable. Please be cautious and avoid accidents.
  • Prevent wooden furniture components from being attacked by moths and other insects. If you discover signs of moths, contact a pest control company as soon as possible.
  • Metal components in furniture may rust. Do not apply cleaning chemicals to these pieces. Such products may remove the protective layer and facilitate metal oxidation.
  • Do not allow children to use furniture for climbing. This can cause the furniture to tip over and result in an accident. Keep children away from furniture with glass and sharp corners.
  • Do not drag furniture. This can
    damage its structure and even cause an accident. To move furniture, even a few centimeters, it should be lifted. If the furniture is too heavy, it should be disassembled and reassembled in its new position.

This warranty does not include:

  1. Damages or loss of furniture resulting from transportation managed by the customer, whether in a personal vehicle or transportation services not belonging to Bodega. This includes transportation platforms such as Uber, Didi, courier companies, etc.
  2. Damage occurring from improper installation by the customer.
  3. Any repairs, modifications, or alterations not performed by Bodega.
  4. Improper, incorrect, or irrational use of the furniture. For example, standing on a table.
  5. Incorrect handling of furniture. For example, through narrow spaces.
  6. Scratches resulting from contact with sharp objects, pens, or similar items.
  7. Incorrect cleaning or use of chemical products known to be harmful to each type of material. Please refer to our "Care and Maintenance Instructions" manual.
  8. Damage caused by living organisms, such as people, fungi, insects, rodents, or pets.
  9. Damage, oxidation, or wear of the product due to prolonged exposure to weather conditions such as humidity, rain, sun, or salinity.
  10. Natural variations in wood grain or tone. As well as dissatisfaction with veins or knots in certain wood species as these are inherent biological characteristics of the material. At the time of ordering, the customer will be informed of the wood species in which their furniture will be made so they are aware of its physical characteristics.
  11. Changes in the softness of backrest and seat foams. Foams may change their density as part of normal use.
  12. Replacement fabrics or paint colors are not guaranteed to be the same as those originally purchased due to fluctuations in supply from suppliers.
  13. After delivery, Bodega does not cover modifications to the product design that were not requested prior to placing the order. For example, customized dimensions, unspecified colors, etc.
  14. Items purchased on clearance due to factory defects. These will be previously inspected by the customer and evaluated at the time of purchase. These products do not have a return policy.
  15. The warranty does not cover systems or mechanisms made by third parties, such as locks, handles, hinges, rails, or electrical installations.
  16. This warranty does not cover customer dissatisfaction related to design or aesthetic aspects.
